SIGNIFICANCE: THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS CONTINUING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY AT SHUANGCHENGTZU SUSPECT ADVANCED WEAPONS RELATED FACILITY 8. THE SHORTER CORRIDORS AT THIS FACILITY ARE CURVED RATHER THAN ANGULAR AS OBSERVED IN OTHERS OF SIMILAR CONFIGURATION. 2. LOCATION: THIS FACILITY IS LOCATED AT 40-26-oON 099-51-OOE, 2.5 NAUTICAL MILES (NM) NORTHEAST OF SHUANGCHENGTZU 3. BACKGROUND: EIGHTEEN INSTALLATIONS, DESIGNATED AS SUSPECT ADVANCED WEAPONS RELATED FACILITIES (SAWRF), HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED IN CHINA. EIGHT OF THESE HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED IN THE SHUANGCHENGTZU AREA. THE OTHERS ARE LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF TIENTSIN (THREE), PEICHING (TWO), SHIHCHIACHANG (TWO), CHENGCHOU (TWO), AND SHANGHAI (ONE). FACILITY These notes have been prepared for brief irig purposes only and should not be used for detailed analytical work. Their use should be restricted to the particular briefing boards (s) they were prepared for and must be considered valid only for the re. porting period as indicated by the date of issue. FIRST IDENTIFICATION: 5. NEGATION DATE: ACTIVITY WERE OBSERVED HOWEVER, NO UNUSUAL ACTIVITY WAS PRESENT AT THAT TIME. 7. MISSION READOUT: THIS MISSION REVEALS THE CORRIDOR CONSTRUCTION TO BE WELL UNDERWAY WITH OVERALL CORRIDOR DIMENSIONS OF 174 METERS (570 FEET) THE FACILITY WHICH IS SIMILAR IN CORRIDOR CONFIGURATION TO SAWRF 7 WILL HAVE SIX NORTHERN AND THREE SOUTHERN TERMINATING CORRIDORS. THE SHORTER CORRIDORS ARE CURVED INSTEAD OF ANGULAR AS NOTED IN SAWRF 7. WEAPONS POSITIONS ARE PROBABLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT THE TWO OUTER- MOST CORRIDORS. AN EXCAVATION FOR A PROBABLE FOUNDATION IS PRESENT IN FRONT OF THE EASTERNMOST NORTH/SOUTH CORRIDOR. AN OVAL MOAT-LIKE EXCAVATION ENCIRCLES THE FACILITY. SUPPORT/CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES CONSIST OF AT LEAST 57 CONSTRUCTION/SUPPORT BUILDINGS, FIVE C-SHAPED BARRACKS, TWO L-SHAPED BARRACKS, ONE OTHER BARRACK, AND 13 STORAGE BUILDINGS.
