SIGNIFICANCE: THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS A NEWLY IDENTIFIED FIELD DEPLOYED SAM SITE NEAR YEN BAI, THE ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEENTH SITE TO BE IDENTIFIED IN NORTH VIETNAM. 2. LOCATION: THE SITE IS LOCATED 14.5 NM SOUTHEAST OF YEN BAI, 3� BACKGROUND: 25X1 ON D THE FIRST SAM SITE IN NORTH VIETNAM WAS OBSERVED ON PHOTOGRAPHY, THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF 1965 THE NUMBER OF SITES INCREASED TO SIXTY-FOUR, SITES 65 THROUGH 93 WERE FIRST OBSERVED IN FEBRUARY 1866, SITES g4 THROUGH 100 IN MARCH, SITE 101 IN APRIL, SITES 102 THROUGH 110 IN MAY, SITES 111 THROUGH 115 IN JUNE, AND SITES 116 THROUGH 122 IN JULY. SITES 10, 18, 20, 36, 4g, AND 50 HAVE BEEN ABANDONED DURING THIS SIXTEEN-MONTH TIME SPAN, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF KNOWN SAM SITES IN NORTH VIETNAM TO ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN, 4, MISSION READOUT; 25X1 REVEALS THIS FIELD DEPLOYED SAM SITE TO CONSIST OF FIVE OCCUPIED LAUNCH POSITIONS (ONE WITH A MISSILE ON A NGA Review Complete These notes have been prepared for briefing purposes only and should not be used (or detailed analytical worX.
