1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: TWO IRAQI AMMUNITION STORAGE DEPOTS WERE
IDENTIFIED IN IRAQI-OCCUPIED IRANIAN TERRITORY NEAR AHVAZ.
2. (S/D) REMARKS: TWO NEW IRAQI AMMUNITION STORAGE DEPOTS WERE
OBSERVED APPROXIMATELY 30 NM WEST-SOUTHWEST OF AHVAZ ON
THE DEPOTS WERE ARRANGED IN CIRCULAR PATTERNS,
HAD A COMBINED TOTAL OF 80 STORAGE BUNKERS, AND WERE DEFENDED BY
TWO SIX-GUN AAA SITES.
(S/D) AMMUNITION STORAGE DEPOT 1 CONSISTED OF 30 STORAGE BUNKERS
ALONG EITHER SIDE OF A RING ROAD. AMMUNITION STORAGE DEPOT 2
WAS APPROXIMATELY 4000 METERS EAST OF DEPOT 1. THIS DEPOT
ENCOMPASSED TWO ADJACENT CIRCULAR STORAGE AREAS. ONE AREA HAD
30 BUNKERS WHILE THE OTHER HAD 20. AS IN DEPOT 1 THE BUNKERS
WERE ALONG EITHER SIDE OF RING ROADS.
