WESTERN 1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: THIS IS THE FIRST IDENTIFICATION OF THE RM-70 MULTIPLE ROCKET LAUNCHER (MRL) WITH POLISARIO FORCES IN WESTERN SAHARA. 2. (S/D) REMARKS: ONE RM-70 MRL WAS IDENTIFIED IN A SMALL WADI ON THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF AAIN UM SERUSA POLISARIO CAMP ON IMAGERY IN ADDITION, THREE BM-11 MRL (NOT ON 25X1 GRAPHIC) AND AT LEAST TEN VEHICLES/PIECES OF EQUIPMENT (NOT ON GRAPHIC) WERE DISPERSED IN HEAVY BRUSH AREA. TWO BM-11 HAVE BEEN OBSERVED HERE THE RM- 25X1 70 IS A CZECHOSLOVAKIAN-PRODUCED, 122MM MULTIPLE ROCKET LAUNCHER MOUNTED ON A TATRA-813 TRUCK. IT IS CURRENTLY DEPLOYED WITH LIBYAN FORCES AND WAS OBSERVED AT MERS EL KEBIR NAVAL BASE AND SHIPYARD, ALGERIA 25X1 25X1 3.
