LOCATION: G, IDENTIFICATION.OF DUMMY TANKS IN QUANG TRI PROVINCE, MILITARY REGION 1 (MR 1), SOUTH VIETNAM. THE DUMMY TANKS ARE IN AN OPEN AREA IN THE VICINITY OF LANG TICH TUONG VILLAGE AND 2.1 NAUTICAL MILES (NM) SSW OF QUANG TRI CITY, SOUTH VIETNAM AT 16-43-09N 107-10-30E. REMARKGS%MISSION READOUT: ON 25 MARCH 1974, FIVE DUMMY TANKS WERE IDENTIFIED DISPERSED THROUGHOUT AN OPEN AREA IN THE VICINITY OF LANG TICH TUONG VILLAGE. THE AREA ALSO CONTAINED 12 BUNKERED BUILDINGS, NUMEROUS INTER- CONNECTING PERSONNEL TRENCHES, AND LIGHT ANTIAIRCRAFT WEAPONS POSITIONS (AAW). THE DUMMY TANKS OBSERVED WERE CONSTRUCTED OF EARTH. EACH TANK MOCKUP HAD A CHASSIS, TURRET, AND A LONG TUBULAR OBJECT RESEMBLING A GUN. THE TANK MOCKUPS WERE APPROXIMATELY 22 FEET LONG AND 10 FEET WIDE. ALTHOUGH THE DUMMY TANKS LACK DETAILS,'IT IS LIKELY THAT THEY WOULD BE MISTAKEN FOR REAL TANKS BY A SPOTTER AIRCRAFT.
