1. SIGNIFICANCE: ACTIVITY AT LATAKIA PORT FACILITIES
APPEARS TO BE RETURNING TO NORMAL.
2. LOCATION:
LATAKIA PORT FACILITIES
ARE AT 35-30-47N 035-45-52E.
3. MISSION READOUT: - ACTIVITY AT LATAKIA PORT FACILITIES
APPEARS TO BE RETURNING TO NORMAL. THREE MERCHANT SHIPS,
INCLUDING ONE MUROM CLASS, ONE SOSNOGORSK CLASS, AND ONE
FREE-WORLD FREIGHTER, WERE TIED UP ALONG THE MAIN QUAY. SIX
OTHER MERCHANT SHIPS, INCLUDING ONE RUMANIAN-BUILT GALATI
CLASS, TWO ANDI ZUAN CLASS , TWO FREE-WORLD FREIGHTERS, AND
ONE FREE-WORLD REFRIGERATOR SHIP, WERE MOORED IN THE HARBOR.
NAVAL COMBATANTS INCLUDED THREE OSA PTFG (TWO ON GRAPHIC),
THREE KOMAR PTG (ONE ON GRAPHIC), TWO VANYA MSC, ONE
PROBABLE T-43 MSF, AND ONE PROBABLE P-4 PT. NO MILITARY
EQUIPMENT WAS OBSERVED IN THE PORT AREA.

YAMASHIRO CLASS MERCHANT SHIP WAS DEAD IN THE WATER
WITH ITS MAIN DECK ALMOST AWASH. ONE OTHER SMALL MERCHANT
SHIP WAS ALSO OFF THE PORT.
