Approved For Release 2000/08/08,: CIA-RDP96-00789R000100030005-3 Site is a foreign military compound disguised to fit in with its surrounding urban setting. Nearby are fields and irrigation ditches; women wash clothes in communal groups. Religion/ritual plays an important part in daily life here. Concertina wire seems to enclose part or all of the site. The main building within the compound has several levels. There are other buildings of various shapes/sizes/construction including several that resemble quonset huts. Access to one large building is particularly restricted. Powerful electronic equipment is in use within (NFI). A classroom is also present in the compound. Personnel at this site are engaged in a covert, officially sanctioned mission of a military/scientific-technical nature.
