OFFICE OF STRATEGIC SERVICES
WASHINGTON, D. C.
Lt. Colonel Peter G. S. Moro
Communications Officer
2677th Regiment, OG3, (Prow)
Caserta
Dear Colonel Moroi
I want to take this opportunity to coamnand you and each officer and
enlisted men of your communications unit for the outstanding work achieved
in preparation for and during the 7th Army invasion of Southern France.
With little time to prepare, your organisation planned and provided
facilities on an unprecedented scale for the American and British partici-
pants of SPOC.
Without such facilities, it would have been wholly impossible for
the 2677th Regiment, OSS, (Prow) to have accomplished on behalf of the 7th
Army the results with which we are credited and the valuable assistance
rendered throughout the invasion.
Their dependence upon communications, and the efficiency and speed
with which vital information, both strategic and tactical, was transmitted
during this critical period reflected greatest credit upon yourself, your
officers, and men. With greatest pleasure I wish to record here my official
commendation to you and your command for a difficult job splendidly execruted.
I would be grateful if you will make known to your officers and men
M, appreciation for the. superior manner in which they discharged their in-
dividual responsibilities in this instance.
Sincerely,
WILLIAM J.0ONOVA
