it was intended to start the manufacture of these tubes in Novosi rsk0
2. In Lay 1949 a questionnaire was received by the GSM, which covered nearly
all aspects of the manufacture of metal ceramic tubes. Special emphasis
was placed on the sealing of the tubes. The questions seemed to indicate
that the Russians had not made much pro~resa in their manufacture. At
the same time, it was heard in the LS;l that Dr. Richter, a specialist in
metal ceremics, was in Novosibirsk.
3. In May 1949, an order was received at the iiSa for 120 of each of the
following: LD6, LD'7, LD9, and LD12. All were to be delivered to the
USSR,
these tubes were being made to a higher standard m e USSFi,,
although omission was not entirely satisfactory,

The 5 D 21 and 829 B are two tubes used in conjunction in one of the
standard German airborne radar sets. In December 1948, 2,000 of each
were manufactured in the O1~1 to a strict specification for delivery to

that they would be unable to complete this order because of a lack of
molybdenuii foil for the former, and nickel wire for the latter. The
Russians said that the order was very urgent, and-that they would provide
some. They have not done so, but the factory itself has managed to obtain
some molybdenum foil and the work on the order for 3 D 50X1-HUM
21 is continuing.
