SUBJECT: Transition ERB Meeting Report
1. A Transition Engineering Review Board was held on 13 August 1987
at 1330. See Attachment A for the list of attendees. See Attachment B
for the agenda.
2. M. Tanigawa opened the meeting and reviewed the following DRs.
See Attachment C for a description of DRs.
a. HU DR E-011-87, the Multi take Procedure Can't be
handled by the Menu. Action on this DR has been deferred pending
the ATEX review.
b. HU DR E-026-87, the Cipher Tape Drive Down. Xyvision is
scheduled to fix the tape drive 14 Aug. If unable to fix, the ERB
will consider "robbing" another cipher for the controller. Priority
is B.
c. BU-DR-E-027-87, Size of Book Code Table. This DR
requires a software change. The change takes 5 minutes, with a 10
minute down time for commo, and a 4 hour recompile/relink time. The
T-ERB approved this DR for implementation to occur on a weekend,
either 15 Aug or 22 Aug. This DR will be reviewed for closure 27
August. Documentation will be updated by 30 Sept.
d. CO-DR-E-002-87, Operator Entered Message Fails
PVALOUT. There is currently a work-around in place for this DR.
The REF is in the text of the message which enables it to pass
PVALOUT. There is currently, no solution to this DR. This DR has
been deferred until 20 August pending a solution.
e. CO-DR-E-003-87, Incorrect Router On Dedicated
Line Channel Check. This DR originates the correct format
required to obtain proper routing. This DR is complete but, remains
open pending documentation update.

f. CO-DR-E-004-87, "DIET" Instead of "DETR" On Log
Printer For Messages RCV/TX. This DR is approved for
implementation and is to occur at the same time correction is made
to HU-DR-E-027-87. The DR will be reviewed for closure 27 August.
g. CO-DR-E-005-87, Aggregate & Group Name Tables Not
Displayed With 1 PLA/Line. This DR requires a minor code change
which is "nice to have". DR is declared non-discrepant and to be
opened as a Change Request. The CR is approved for implementation.
h. CO-DR-E-006-87, PSTATCLW Doesn't Print Messages
After Startup. This DR identifies an oversite and needs a fix. No
change is required. The T-ERB approved this DR for implementation.
i. CO-DR-E-007-87, Misspelled Word "EXPECECTS" In
Main Commo Help Screen." This DR requires a minor change. The
T-ERB approved this DR for implementation to occur at the same time
correction is made to HU-DR-E-027-87.
j. CO-DR-E-008-87, Statistics Report Error Description."
This DR is a minor change allowing the descripter to be presented
appropriately. The T-ERB approved this DR for implementation to
occur at the same time correction is made to HU-DR-E-027-87.
k. CO-DR-E-009-87, SAV/TMP Command Followed by GET/TMP
Cannot be Edited." The changes required to resolve this DR have
been identified. The changes will enable the SAV/TMP file to be
edited. The ERB has approved this DR for implementation.
1. CO-DR-E-010-87, PRTIMELOG Procedure Terminates".
The change required to resolve this DR is minor. This DR is approved
for implementation.
m. CO-DR-E-011-87, Double Admin Line." The problem described
in this DR has been identified. There is currently no solution to
this DR. This DR has been deferred pending a resolution.
n. CO-DR-E-012-87, PVALIN Spills Message for Incorrect
Reason." Currently, a work-around is in place for this DR. There
is no solution to this DR at this time. This DR has been deferred
pending a resolution.

3. The status of the following DRs was discussed.
a. BU-DR-E-002-87, Bureau Filing Numbers." ADD and LEC
are to review this DR. Next week this DR will be addressed for a
status update.
b. BU-DR-E-009-87, Read-Only Components Lock Out Wire
Editors From Queue." This DR is still being reviewed and tested.
This DR will be deferred until 20 August.
c. BU-DR-E-010, Transmitting Wire Items Before The
Header Is Attached." This DR is pending review and is deferred
until a solution is found.
4. Two new Change Requests were presented.
a. BU-CR E-005-87, Automatic Spike of Transmitted Items."
This CR is assigned to LEC and is deferred pending the ATEX review.
This CR will be discussed 3 September.
b. HU-CR-E-006-87, Wire Editors Manually Inserting Extra
"Quad Lefts"." This CR is deferred pending review of ATEX and will
be discussed 3 September.
5. Two new RFCs were presented to the T-ERB. See Attachment C for a
description of RFCs.
a. BU-RFC-E-013-87, Wire Service Message Header Change."
This RFC has been deferred pending the review of ATEX and will be
discussed at the 3'September T-ERB.
b. BU-RFC-E-016-87, Log Ons and Password Protection
for DRD." This RFC has been deferred pending the review of ATEX and
will be discussed at the 3 September T-ERB.

6. The following RFCs were reviewed for update.
a. HU-RFC-E-006-87, Wire Service Numbering." This RFC
requires a VAX change, no ATEX change. LEC proposes a month period
to complete this RFC and an additional month to complete necessary
document changes. LEC, OPS, and ADD will review this request. This
RFC is deferred two weeks, 27 August.
b. HU-RFC-E-015-87, Additional Disk Drives For Atex
and Xyvision. LEC is to provide a ROM to the ERB. LEC is to
provide a cost schedule to Mal. A second disk drive is to be
delivered from S.T. Research on Friday, 14 August. HED will assess
the condition of the ddsk drive.
