According to the order of the Ministry of Electrification and Improve-
ments, Published in the State Herald, No 236, 12 December 1949, and accord-
ing to Section 1 of the Law on the Power Industry, published in the State
Herald, No 71, 27 February 1948, the right to construct any type of electric
installation is restricted exclusively to the ministry, the Power Association
organization, or to persons having special authorization from the ministry.
Electric installations effected without authorization from the Power As-
sociation cannot be put in use or connected to the system.
All installations. which have been illegally projected or executed will
be disconnected and the electricians responsible will be indicted for breaking
the law.
THERMAL POWER PLANT RENAMED -- Izgrev, No 1586, 25 Nov 49
At the extraordinary session of the Sofia People's Soviet, held on 24 No-
vember, the Committee for Naming Projects of National and Social Importance
approved a motion to change the name of the Nadezhda thermal electric power
plant to I. V. Stalin.
The power plant was built with substantial aid from the USSR and from
Stalin, personally. The change of name was approved in writing by the
Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party.
