T'ai-pei, 9 February -- General Li Mi arrived in T'ai-pei or 7 Feb-
ruar . He has been holding consultations with various depants our
government about supplies and strategy and has been bbusily a ongaged in
holding secret military conferences.
Nov that his business is finished, General Li is to return to his as-
signed sector of defense. Gen Li has denied that the KMT troops have entered
either Burma or Thailand; he averred that the Koff' forces are still within
Yunnan engaged in a life and death struggle with the Communist bandits. He
further added that life at the front is full of hardships but that the morale
of the troops was high.

Because they are unable to supprese the remaining RI forces which are
growing stronger, the Chinese Commun`_sts are now fabricating stories that

may get outside help to crush these forces.
