Walker Executive Director The President's Commission on Executive Exchange The White House Washington, D. C. 20503 Thank you for your letter of 20 December 1984 inviting the Agency to participate in the 1985-86 President's Commission on Executive Exchange Program. STAT This year the Agency wishes to nominate to parti- STAT cipate in the Program. is a careerist with the Directorate of Intelligence and has ccimpiled a record of positive accomplishments during his 17 years with the Agency. His selection to this Program will enhance his professional growth, knowledge and value to our organization. For your review, I have enclosed a nomination statement and appropriate biographical STAT forms on This year we are offering a host position to the Executive Exchange Program to be encumbered by a candidate with a highly technical background. The selected incumbent will be assigned to one of our most scientifically progressive and 'state of the art' offices within the Directorate of Science and Technology. The enclosed position overview describes the host position being proposed, while outlining the credentials required of the nominees. Again, as we agreed last year, any Executive Exchange candidate being recom- mended for a position with the Agency will have to have a security clearance, or will require one for a substantial portion of his/her future career. This will help relieve our concern about exposing too many people to sensitive, classified information for only brief periods of time. Any nominees would, of course, be required to undergo our clearance process, including a poly- graph examination. We appreciate your continued interest in the Agency and look forward to our association with the 1985-85 Executive Exchange Program. Yours, William J.
