The 40-odd members of the World Federation of Democratic Youth
delegation, now touring China, arrived .in Peiping on 23 September
after having visited a number of cities in North China and the
Northeast,:,-In all places.they.were given rousing welcomes. The Ho-
fei newspdper lists the names of the delegates. The US representa-
tive on the WFDY delegation visiting S1 nghai gave greetings from a
US organization.
DELEGATION VISITS AGRICULTURAL STATION -- Ho-fei, Huan-pei Jih-pao, 24 Sep 50
Mukden, 21 September (Hsin-hua) -.. The WFDY (World Federation of Democratic
Youth) delegation, lead by Enrico Boccara, left Dairen on 20 September and went
to Hsiung=yueh Hsiang in Kai-p'ing Hsien to visit the Provincial Agricultural
Experimentation Station of Liaotung Province. The party legit Mukden for Peiping
the same night.
DELEGATION ARRIVES IN TIENTSIN -- Ho-fei, Huan-pei Jih-pao, 24 Sep 50
The WFDY delegation, composed of 40-odd youth leaders from various people's
democracy countries,,. arrived in Tientsin on 21 September after visiting various
cities in the Northeast.
FETE DELEGATION MEMBERS -.. Ho-fei, Huan-pei Jih-pao, 24 Sep 50
Tientsin, 22 September (Hsin-hua) -- Some 30,000 youth, representing all
circles in,Tientsin, held a welcoming celebration for the WFDY delegation on
22 September 1950.

Huan Ching, mayor of '.Wien+ein, and Chang Huai-san, secretary of the
Tientsin Working Committee, China New Democracy Youth Corps, gave the wel-
coming speeches, The welcoming group was then addressed by the following
delegation members. Pu-la-fu LPulo?77, Fo-tao-wen fTudolven?7, and Wei-ssu.
Llliis and the subsequent hyphenated names are Chinese approximation of for-
eign names7 representing youth of Cuba, USSR, and US, respectively. All
three indicated the need of uniting the youth of the world to oppose the war
of aggression being pursued by the US imperialism, and the need to increase
and support liberation wars in colonial countries.
WORLD YOUTH LEADERS ARRIVE IN PEIPING Ho-fei, Huan-pei Jih-pao, 24 Sep 50
Peiping, 23 September (Hsin-hua) -- The WFDY delegation arrived in
Peiping today after visiting various cities in the Northeast and the Tient-
sin area,
Some 7,000 people were at the station to welcome the delegation. The
welcoming group included officials from the All-China Federation of Democratic
Youth, China New Democracy Youth Corps Central Committee, All-China Students
Federation, All-China Federation of Literature and Arts, Sino-Soviet Friend-
ship Association, China Committee to Defend World Peace, China-Foreign Affairs
Research Association, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Central People's Gov-
ernment; and People's Revolutionary Military Coun.:il of the Central People's
governments.
Liao Ch'eng-?chih, chairman of the All-China Federation of Democratic Youth,
gave the welcoming speech, which was answered by Enrico Boccara, leader of the
delegation.. Vladimir Semitchastny, member of the delegation, and the secretary
of the Central Committee of the Komsomol, extended greetings in behalf of the
Soviet youth to the youth in China. He said, in part, "There is no doubt that
the two largest units of the WFDY -- Soviet and Chinese youth -- will exert
every effort toward contributing to the work of strengthening the democratic
camp and establishing peace."
The delegation later held a press conference and attended a banquet and
musical entertainment, sponsored jointly by the All-China Federation of Demo-
cratic Youth, China New Democracy Youth Central Committee, and All-China Stu-
dents Federation..
DELEGATION HOLDS PRESS CONFERENCE -.- Ho-fei, Huan-pei Jih-pao, 24 Sep 50
Peiping, 23 September (Hai.n-hua) -- The WFDY delegation held a press con-
ference in Peiping on 23 September 1950.
Enrico Boccara, chief of the delegation, introduced the delegation members
to the reporters. The WFDY delegation pointed out that it had come to China
principally to participate in the celebration of the first anniversary of he
founding of People's Republic of China, to congratulate the great victory and
achievement of the Chinese people, and to make them known to the peoples and
youth of the world. The members stated that, in the light of the present aggres-
sion of US imperialism against Korea and Taiwan, the delegation can see the
strong determination of the Chinese people and youth to defend world peace; con-
sequently, their might can be told to the youth of the various countries.
Boccara stated his impressions of the visits to different cities in the
Northeast. He praised the.effort and achievement of the people and youth in
the Northeast in reconstructing their fatherland, and the machinery and techni-
cal assistance given by the USSR.in rebuilding China. "The young partisans of
peace of the democratic countries of the world will Know, on our return, that
they can rely on Chinese youth, determined to oppose imperialists to establish
peace," he added..

the representative of the American Progressive Youth Association, issued the
