In the third-quarter 1950, gross production by all Armenian industry in-
creased 12 percent over the third quarter 1949.
The following enterprises fulfilled and exceeded the third-quarter plan for
gross production and for quantitative production of chief types of goods: "Ar-
menenergo," Zangezur Mine Administration, Alaverdi Copper-Smelting Plant, Ala-
verdi Mine Administration, tire plant, electric-machine building plant, Machine-
Tool Building Plant imeni Dzerzhinskiy, cable plant, cement plant, mullite plant,
grain-milling combine, cord factory, Leninakan Cotton Combine, Leninakan Hosiery
Factory, cloth factory, Beriyevskaya Silk Textile Factory, Beriyevskaya Knit
Goods Factory, leather plant, Shoe Factory No 3, Sewing Factory No 1, silk-
winding factory, Kirovakan Textile Factory, Kirovakan Machine-Building Plant,
"Ararat" Trust, champagne wine combine, "Glavsoyuztabaksyr'ye," geranium plant,
mineral water trust, butter and fats combine,' tobacco factory, glass container
plant, Yerevan Meat Combine, Lambalinskoye and Kafan timber managements, Idzhe-
van Sawmill, school accessories factory, Yerevan Machine-Building Plant, weigh-
ing and measuring instruments plant, "Metal loshirpotreb " (metal consumers'
goods) Plant, electric lighting equipment plant, Ararat Lime Plant, Dzhadzhur-
skiy Lime Plant, and Pemzashenskoye Quarry Administration.
The following enterprises fulfilled the gross-production plan, but failed
to meet the plan for production of chief types of goods: clock plant, Leninakan
Meat Canning Combine, Tumanyanskoye Mine Administration, electric precision in-
struments plant, metal structures plant, and Kirovakan Sheepskin Coat Factory.
The following enterprises failed to meet the plan either for gross produc-
tion or for chief types of goods: Alaverdi Chemical Plant, Kirovakan Chemical
Plant, Plant imeni Kirov, carbide plant, Sevan GES, compressor plant, small hy-
droturbine plant, "Avtodetall" Plant, "Armbarit" (Armenian Barite), Leninakan
Spinning Factory imeni Molotov, Armenian Cheese Trust, confectionery and maca-
roni factory, shoe factories No 1 and 2, Sewing Factory No 2, Kirovakan, Nor-
bayazet, and Goris knit goods factories, Stepanavan Hosiery Factory, Alaverdi
and Shamshadinskoye timber managements, Furniture Factory imeni Kirov, Arabkir-
skaya Furniture Factory, "Anipemza," "Artiktuf," Yerevan Tile and Brick Plant,
granite-cutting factory, Leninakan Refractories Plant, chemical and pharmaceu-
ticals plant, Echmiadzin Machinery Plant, Leninakan Machinery Plant, Kanaker
Shoe Factory.

On 20 October, the republics kolkhozes completed the harvest of grain
crops. On 10 September, kolkhozes and sovkhozes fulfilled, considerably ahead
of schedule, the state plan for grain procurement, delivering to the state
320,000 more poods of grain than in 1949.
The potato harvest area was greater than last year. The harvest and de-
livery to the state of cottoq, sugar beets, and other crops is proceeding suc-
cessfully.
The work of providing an increased fodder supply base for animal husban-
dry on kolkhozes is proceeding on a high level. The plan for mowing indigenous
grasses and ensilage work has been fulfilled, while the area of mowing of in-
digenous hay has increased 4 percent, seed grasses 28 percent, and ensilage 13
percent over 1949.
On 20 October, MTS had completed 23 percent more tractor work than in 1949.
MTS fulfilled the plan for combine harvesting 122 percent, representing an in-
crease of 18 percent over 1949.
Construction projects in the republic fulfilled 75 percent of the third-
quarter capital-construction plan, including 69 percent by Unio-l projects and
94 percent by republic projects. The volume of capital construction in the
third quarter 1950 was 99 percent of that of the same period c.' 1949. Con-

Sale to the population of the following products increased in the third
quarter over the second quarter 1950: meat products, cotton and woolen fabrics,
knit goods, and others. Prices continue to decrease on the kolkhoz markets,
while the sale of agricultural products to the population has increased substan-
tially.

The third-quarter plan for retail trade turnover was fulfilled 96 percent,
including 97 percent by the trade network, and 95 percent by the network of
