B. OTHER ACTIVITIES
1. C/LAS has exchanged the smog of Washington for the smog
of Los Angeles. He flew out on the maiden jet flight of
American Airways on Sunday to attend the first conference on
Soviet-Asian Relations at Southern California.
2. With the impending loss of ILAS is faced with
a real problem in meeting its fall commitment for area train-
ing on the Far East. It is hoped that before too long Frank
slot can be filled with someone qualified to handle
South -Southeast Asia, in which field we are presently weakest.
