Since the assignment of an additional driver to OCA on 26 September, we have noticed a marked improvement in the speed and efficiency with which this office has been able to conduct its business. Whereas in the past, lack of transportation at a given time frequently required us to defer appointments on Capitol Hill or unduly consolidate individual trips (thereby resulting in expensive down time by obliging one officer to wait for another officer to finish his or her business before returning to Headquarters), the availability of an additional driver has enabled us to respond more rapidly to our fast breaking and often unpredictable travel requirements. On several occasions prior to assignment of the third driver, OCA officers have even resorted to using their personal vehicles to arrive on time for a given appointment. 2. An additional comment is in order to note the excellent performance of both of the new drivers recently assigned to OCA, Their excellent driving skills, courteous manner, and pleasant temperaments are distinct assets in helping this office accomplish its mission.
