the following sketches of various Rumanian and Soviet
naval craft:
a. Sketch of a mine layer (Lansator-mine). It is used for both laying
and sweeping mines. Its speed 1s.25 kilometers per hour. The follow-
ing boats are of this type: MIDIA, AURORA, SULINA.
b. Sketch of a Soviet military barge (Slep Militar Sovietic). Ship
used to transpoit tanks and ammunition. It is planned that one
thousand such ships be constructed by 1955 in the following ship-
yards: Sovromtransport (SRT) Galati; Dinamica and SRT Ttirnu Severin;
SRT Izbanda; 7 November (IRN); Danubiu and in Braila. 50X1
C. Sketch of an assault boat (Barca de asalt); Description:
Length - 12 meters
Width - 3 meters
Speed - 35 kilotheters per hour
Three machine guns on the prow.
Twenty man crew.
Boat is constructed of wood.
It is built by factories in Braila. There are 500
boats planned, out of which 400 have already been finished and
launched on the Arapu Canal in Braila. The boat belongs to the
Border Guard units.
d. Sketch of a vedette boat (Vedeta Torpiloare) carrying torpedoes:

Noiseless exhaust pipes in rear of ship.
One hundred and fifty such boats have already been constructed in the
factories in Braila and launched on the Arapu Canal,
southwest of Braila. There are 100 more boats in construction.
