SUBJECT: FBIS Bureau Chiefs Conference
1. On behalf of the FBIS bureau chiefs and senior FBIS
headquarters officers, I would like to thank you for taking the time
to address the FBIS Bureau Chiefs Conference. For our field chiefs,
in particular, your appearance demonstrates the Directorate's
continuing interest in our overseas operations and concern for our
people there. Your comments were well received, and, as usual, your
readiness to address the difficult issues directly was greatly
appreciated.
2. I was also pleased that you were able to join us at the
cocktail reception. As much as your formal presentation was
enlightening, there were many bureau chiefs who felt it was equally
important to have the opportunity to meet with you in an informal
setting. Again, thank you for helping to make the conference a
success.
