The Delta Data PORTS Imagery System
System Description:
The Delta Data PORTS Imagery System is a low-cost, easy to use, yet
powerful transportable Imagery System.
It is based upon the Delta Data TEMPEST TOTE PC equipped with an image
digitizer board, a miniature video camera, a compact 9" high resolution
Black & White TV monitor, a small ink-jet text printer, a photographic-
quality video image printer and sophisticated menu-driven software.
This software permits the system to:
- Display real tine digitized camera images on monitor
- Capture images and display on Hi-Res TV monitor
- Save and Recall images from cartridge hard disk
- Annotate images with text and/or graphics
- Enhance images
- Receive and Transmit images

The TOTE PC is equipped with 640 KB RAM, a Floppy Disk Drive, a 10 MB
Cartridge Hard Disk Drive, a Frame Grabber video image digitizing
board, clock/calendar with battery backup and a Synchronous
Communications board.

Imagery System Components Description:
Video Camera
The video camera is extremely small and uses a solid state image
sensor - the Charge Coupled Device (CCD) - instead of the
conventional pickup tube. It can operate in low light
environments (3 lux), and can even detect images that are close to
the infrared range, permitting surveillance in dark places and of
heat radiating'objects.
Two interchangeable high quality lenses are provided, which attach
to the camera with a standard C mount adapter:
1. Nikon Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/2.8
2. Sony 16mm f/1.4 (for close-up & wide angle uses)
A camera power supply and a camera tripod are also included.
High Resolution 9" TV Monitor
The Imagery System monitor is a compact, broadcast quality
monochrome 9" TV video monitor featuring high reliability and
superior picture quality.
Photographic Quality Image Printer
The image printer piovides a high resolution, photograph-quality
hard copy of images with 16 or more shades of gray, using raster-
scan video as input.
Ink Jet Printer
The small TEMPEST ink jet printer provides hard copy text output
and serves as the system printer when needed.
TOTE PC
The TOTE PC is a rugged and compact IBM PC compatible
transportable TEMPEST Personal Computer. It features an amber
Electroluminiscent Display for bright, sharp, easy to read
characters, a 360 KB floppy disk drive, a 10 MB cartridge hard
disk drive and a 640 KB RAM. It boasts 9 PC bus expansion card
slots into which IBM PC compatible cards can be added. One such
board is the frame grabber video digitizer board. The TOTE PC
also features the Cassette Aided Trainer (CAT), a micro-cassette
tape drive to assist the operator in stressful environments.
The frame grabber board digitizes the incoming video signal and
displays the digitized image on the system TV monitor in real time
at 30 frames per second. The image can also be temporarily stored
in the board's digital memory as a 512 x 512 x 8 bit image.
A real-time clock/calendar with battery backup board is used to
automatically provide the system with accurate date and time.
A synchronous communications board is provided to permit
externally clocked data communications for receiving and
transmitting images.

Maintenance:

The PORTS lA Imagery System is warranted for a period of ninety
(90) days from the date of shipment. Warranty repair work will be
performed at no charne when the failed item(s) is returned to our
Reston, VA Factory Service Depot.
Maintenance Contract:
A depot level maintenance contract is available from Delta Data at
$520 per month per PORTS system. This provides for the repair of
any failed item of the PORTS Imagery System system when returned
to the Delta Data depot which is located at:
