During my morning White House call, Djerejian
told me that Bob Woodward had met with him to
discuss the administration's position on the story
that the POST is sitting on. Woodward told
Djerejian that while the President had called Kay
Graham, and Poindexter and other administration
heavyweights had weighed in with the POST on this
matter, the POST could not figure out what it was
that the administration was so concerned about.
Djerejian said he wrote up the full account of his
lengthy session with Woodward for Poindexter and
deGraffenreid and said he had asked Ken to call
me. Ken has riot been in touch with me so far and
I will keep after him and Djerejian. In the
meantime perhaps you would like to touch base with
Poindexter and get an update on what is going on.
