(SWN) SIGNIFICANCE: A NEW TYPE OF PROBABLE MIDGET SUBMARINE (SSM) AND A TAECHONG SUBMARINE CHASER (PCS) ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT THE SHIPYARD. 2. (SWN) REMARKS: THE VESSELS HAVE PROBABLY BEEN ROLLED OUT OF THE CONSTRUCTION HALL SINCE THE PROBABLE SSM HAS A LENGTH (POSSIBLY UNFINISHED OF 32 METERS AND A BEAM BE DIFFERENT FROM SSM PREVIOUSLY OBSERVED IN THE NORTH KOREAN INVENTORY, WHICH INCLUDES 14 SSM AND ONE TRANSPORT SUBMARINE (SSLP). COMPONENTS FOR UNIT NUMBER SIX OF THE TAECHONG-CLASS PCS HAVE PROBABLY BEEN AT THE SHIPYARD SINCE EARLY 1979.
