1. SIGNIFICANCE: MAJOR PORT EXPANSION WAS OBSERVED AT THE ARABIAN
(SWN)

2. REMARKS: A NEW FLOATING QUAY WAS IN THE LATE STAGES OF
CONSTRUCTION AND ONLY THE FINAL LINK-UP WITH A RECENTLY PREPARED
JETTY REMAINED TO BE COMPLETED. A LARGE PROBABLE EQUIPMENT
STORAGE/HOLDING AREA WAS BEING PREPARED AND FOOTINGS FOR AT
LEAST TWO LARGE WAREHOUSE-TYPE BUILDINGS WERE IN PLACE. THE
FOUNDATIONS AND SOME INTERIOR WALLS FOR A PROBABLE
ADMINISTRATION BUILDING WERE ALSO PRESENT. A NEW EAST-WEST
COASTAL ROAD (NOT ANNOTATED) WAS ALSO BEING PREPARED. THIS NEW
CONSTRUCTION AND ROAD PREPARATION HAS RENDERED THE CO-LOCATED
CHAH BAHAR AIRFIELD UNUSABLE. THE OLD PORT 25X1
FACILITIES AT CHAH BAHAR CONSISTED OF A SINGLE FINGER PIER AND
NO SUPPORT FACILITIES. (SWN)
SEA PORT OF CHAH BAHAR IN SOUTHEASTERN IRAN ON IMAGERY OF 0
CHAH BAHAR PORT FACILITIES IS IN SOUTHEASTERN IRAN ON THE
ARABIAN'$EA,.APPROXIMATELY 55 NM WEST OF THE PAKISTAN BORDER.
