2. Nabiswera Airfield This military airfield, 82 nautical miles (nm) north 25X1
of Kampala on the west shore of Lake Kyoga, was first identified while under construction
runway had been
completed, and the taxiways were in a late stage of construction. Extensive support and barracks
facilities were in various stages of completion on the east side of the airfield. There is considerable
room for expansion at this airfield (Figure 2).

3. Gulu Airfield This major military airfield is 195 nm north of Kampala. 2bAl
Soviet personnel are reportedly stationed here and engaged in a training program, instructing Ugandan
pilots on Soviet jet aircraft.' one FAGOT (MiG-15), ten FRESCO 25X1
(MiG-17), and three FRESCO shipping containers were seen. A barracks and support area containing
15 barracks in various stages of construction and foundations for 20 other buildings is currently
being built 1 nm south-southeast of the runway.

4. Tororo Military Barracks This military barracks facility, 88 nm east
of Kampala and 2 nm west of the Kenyan border, was first identified
had revealed no signs of construction
at the site. One hundred and twenty-two barracks, 12 officers' quarters, and 62 other buildings were
externally complete; however, the facility does not appear to be occupied as yet by military personnel.
There were 34 barracks, four officers' quarters, and eight other buildings in various stages of completion
(Figure 3).
5. Masindi Army Barracks This military barracks facility, 87 nm
north-northwest of Kampala, was first identified in the final stage
of construction. This facility includes 174 barracks, 20 officers' and 30 dependents' quarters, eight
unfinished buildings, and a separate motor pool (Figure 4).
