It is possible that the tactical air signal regiment may be used to establish communications links between a tactical air army headquarters and the field headquarters at a dispersal airfield. The regiment at Khabarovsk is housed in two installations: Khabarovsk Army Barracks Railroad Station Northeast AL 26 and Khabarovsk Unidentified Signal Regiment Army Barracks. At Khabarovsk Army Barracks Railroad Station Northeast AL 26 (Figure 1) a mobile airfield ground support equipment (GSE) unit and some signal vehicles were identified. Equipment observed consisted of two TWIN EAR antenna (R-133) sets, four radio relay (R-400/404) sets, two transceivers (R-102M), four R-800 series radios, four UAZ-452 marker beacon trans- mitters, three communications vehicles (R-299M), and 21 electronic/support van trucks. The installation is collocated with Khabarovsk Radio Communi- cations Station Northeast At Khabarovsk Unidentified Signal Regiment Army Barracks (Figure 2) a nondivisional signal communications unit was identified. Equipment observed included four R-400/404 sets, ten R-409, six TWIN PLATE antenna (R-410) sets, and one TWIN EAR (R-133) set.
