EQUIPM N , S 0 Z~HE QUAY.
2. (S/D) REMARKS: A SOVIET ARMS SHIPMENT HAS BEEN DELIVERED TO
MERS EL KEBIR NAVAL BASE AND SHIPYARD. MOST OF THE MILITARY
EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN PLACED ON THE QUAY THE
EQUIPMENT INCLUDES 13 SA-6 TRANSLOAD , - N
TRANSPORTERS, 29 MEDIUM TANKS, AND APPROXIMATELY 75 CARGO
TRUCKS, ALL IN THE CENTRAL TRANSSHIPMENT AREA. ADDITIONAL SA-6
EQUIPMENT IS ALSO IN THE EASTERN TRANSSHIPMENT AREA. SIXTEEN
SA-6 TRANSPORTER-ERECTOR-LAUNCHER, FOUR STRAIGHT FLUSH TRACKING
AND GUIDANCE RADAR, AND FIVE SU-23-4 SELF-
ANTIAIRCRAFT ARTILLERY GUNS ARE PRESENT. ONE
SOVIET AKADEMIK TUPOLEV-CLASS ROLL-ON/ROL - AND
ONE SOVIET=LENINSKi~C KOMSC~IGL'-CLASS PlERSHi~~ WERE ALONGSIDE THE'
QUAY. THE LENINSKIY KOMSOMOL-CLASS MERSHIP REMAINS AT THE
QUAY, AND THE AKADEMIK TUPOLEV RO/RO HAS DEPARTED.
