(S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: A FOLLOW-ON TO THE ZSU-23/4 SELF PROPELLID ANTIAIRCRAFT (SPAA) SYSTEM MAY BE UNDER DEVELOPMENT AT DONGUZ ARTILLERY TEST AREA, USSR. 2. (S/D) RIIv~ARKS: A PROBABLE NEW SP ANTI- AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY SYSTEM WAS OBSERVID AT DONGUZ ARTILLERY TEST AREA. THE VEHICLE IS COVERID BY A LARGE RECTANGULAR STRUCTURE WITH A SLOPING FRONT EDGE. SEVERAL PROBABLE GUN TUBES EXTEND FROM THE SLOPID PORTION OF THE STRUCTURE, BUT IMAGE INTERPRETABILITY PREVENTS A COUNT OF THE NUMBER OF GUN TUBES. THE VEHICLE IS LOCATID ADJACENT TO AN SA-13 TEST CELL IN THE OPERATIONS AND TEST AREA. (S/D) ANALYST COMMENTS -- THE ZSU-23/4 SPAA SYSTEM IS AN EFFECTIVE BUT DATID (MID 60'S) SYSTEM. A LARGER CALIBER FOLLOW-ON TO THIS SYSTEM HAS BEEN EXPECTID FOR SOME TIME. DONGUZ ARTILLERY TEST AREA IS THE PRIMARY SOVIET TEST AND EVALUATION CENTER FOR ANTI-AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY 3.
