IMAGERY INFORMATION REPORT
FIRST IDENTIFICATION OF T-55 TANKS AT CAMIARA ARMY
BARRACKS AND HEADQUARTERS, PERU
Soviet tanks were seen for the first time at Camiara Army Barracks
and Headquarters in Peru (Figure 1) when 18
T-55 tanks were seen throughout the facility. Also noted for the first
time at this facility were two canvas-covered ZSU-23/4 self-propelled
antiaircraft guns (Figure 2). Camiara, which is approximately 50 nautical
miles from the Peru-Chile border, is the farthest south that Soviet equip-
ment has been seen in Peru. Armored personnel carriers, self-propelled
mortars, trucks, trailers, and engineering equipment were also seen on the
