Four areas which I feel are of particular importance to both of us are the following: 1. Is the given definition of Gain (9) satisfactory? 2. Is the value of ?15% for the brightness variation practical? Can a variation of 15% be detected visually? What might be a-more meaningful requirement on bright- ness. uniformity? 3. How should the sensitivity to ambient light be specified and measured? How important are the spectral properties of the projection and ambient illumination? 4. Is the proposed figure-of-merit meaningful? Are all of the important parameters included? Should each parameter be individually weighed?
