Recent KEYHOLE photography revealed the installation and construction of four electronics facilities at Lourdes Military Headquarters Torrens, Cuba. Electronics equipment observed consisted of an optical position with radar, a FIX-24 antenna, an HF communications site with radar, and a probable telemetry antenna. 2. This report includes a description of the main installation, a list of adjacent or related military facilities, an annotated photograph, and mensural data. 4. Other military facilities located in the immediate vicinity of Lourdes Military Headquarters Torrens include Lourdes Vehicle Park Torrens No 1 immediately west-southwest, 25X1 Lourdes Military Camp Torrens immediately southwest of the headquarters, and San 25X1 Pedro Airfield 0.4 nm west-southwest of the headquarters. 25X1 Electronics equipment has been identified in four sections of the headquarters. Havana and 5.5 nm NE of Bauta International RADCOM and AM Transmitter MOO 25X1 3. The Lourdes Military Headquarters Torrens is located 10.3 nautical miles nm southwest of 5. The Lourdes Military Headquarters Torrens consists of an electronics area, an administration area, and a vehicle maintenance area (Figure 1). 6. The electronics area includes four cable-connected sections and encompasses a large area southeast of the administration area: Section A consists of two radar platforms (one with an unidentified radar) and an optical position. The optical position is withi enclosure atop a tower in 25X1 height. The purpose of the radar and optical position has not been determined. The area is secured by a double fence. Section B is an HF/DF (FIX-24) antenna) and a centrally located control building. The area is not secured but appears to be in the initial stage of being double fenced. Section C consists of a squared portion secured by two fences in which are located an unidentified platform-mounted radar and two control buildings for an HF communications site. There is a guard tower at each of the four corners. The administration area consists of a quadrangle enclosed by a large complex multistory administration building, two large multistory dormitory-type buildings, an auditorium, and several small support and administration buildings. There is a soccer field in the center of the quadrangle. An obstacle course is located just northwest of the camp. 8. The vehicle maintenance /parking area is located just north of the administration area. It is enclosed by a wall and contains a probable machine shop and four vehicle maintenance sheds. 9. Security arrangements at the headquarters consist of a series of guardposts and checkpoints situated on the main roads leading to and from the main headquarters area.
