Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/08/17: CIA-RDP78T05698A000300010098-7 Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/08/17: CIA-RDP78TO5698A000300010098-7 National 17 NOVEMBER 1977 Photographic Interpretation Center IMAGERY INFORMATION REPORT SIGNAL INTERCEPT UNITS, ODESSA ARMY BARRACKS PROTOPOPOVKA AL-11, USSR (S) (TSR) A radio and radar intercept intercept 25X1 regiment were identified on photography t Odessa Army Barracks Protopopovka AL-11 in the Odessa Military District, USSR (Figure 1). An intercept site associated with these units was observed 25X1 nautical miles to the east and adjacent to Odessa 25X1 Army Barracks Sverdlovo AL-12 Figure 2). 25X1 (TSR) Major equipment identified at Odessa Army Barracks AL-11 associated with the radio and radar intercept regiment includes one TWIN BOX, one BAR BRICK, seven SWING BOX sets, two probable HIGH BRICK, three probable R-102, 63 van trucks, and at least 30 probable generator trailers. This equipment was parked in the northern portion of the vehicle park. (TSR) Major equipment identified in the southern portion of the vehicle park and associated with the radio intercept regiment includes nine AR-EL-01 sets, three possible SPIKE SQUARE, one probable HIGH BRICK, four R-140, four possible R-140, one R-118, 13 intercept trailers, and 132 van trucks. This is the first identification of the AR-EL-01 vehicle at this installation. (TSR) A communications unit associated with these two intercept regiments was in the eastern portion of the vehicle park. Equipment observed includes two R-140, two R-409 CATS EYE/CATS PAW, 50 van trucks, and five intercept trailers. (TSR) Other major equipment identified at Odessa includes two PIE DISH electronics intelligence (ELINT) antennas, a FULL HOUSE (not shown), and a high-frequency (HF) antenna field.
