(S/WNINTEL) Boulogne Tank Assembly Plant, the production plant for the first
indigenously produced tank in South America, was identified on photography of 25X1
=in Buenos Aires, Argentina (Figure 1). According to a DoD report,' the TAM (medi- 25X1
um Argentine tank) is produced at Boulogne Tank Assembly Plant, and a portable 120mm
mortar, self-propelled artillery, bridging equipment, and tank rescue vehicles will be pro-
duced there.
(S/WNINTEL) The wall-secured facility consists of an assembly area, a vehicle test
area, and two support areas. The assembly area includes a final assembly building with
three adjacent administration buildings, seven subassembly buildings, five probable ma-
chine and tooling shops, and 19 storage/support buildings. The vehicle test area includes a
vehicle test track, a snorkel pond, obstacles, and several inclines. The two support areas
contain a total of 18 support buildings. Thirteen probable tank chassis were observed in
the assembly area (Figure 2).
(S/WNINTEL) Imagery of revealed the presence of all the buildings at 25X1
the plant, with the exception of the final assembly building and adjacent administration
buildings; however, the footings for those buildings were observed. Also, the vehicle test
area had not been constructed.
