nhe destroyer Provo= is the former Gerry-,,n destroyer- of 25X1 C
the l~ r Class.
The designations Z4 and 2O of the tv!o other d estroycrs under
repair are only designations .given by the shipy rd rather than
destroyer numbers of the Soviet Navy. The statement that the vessels
are former German destroyers is erroneous. According to the reports
received up to nou on these two destroyers, they are units of the
modern Soviet 0 Class, i.e. Otv (Z4) and S rnnSr W). Des-
troyer Qjypahn, was laid down only ri,tIrin the war and not corn-
mi.ssioned until 1947 or 1943. The modern vessels of the 0 Class
differ somewhat fro:: the older units of this class in armament
and length (e.g. Destroyer forozhevoi). The following peacetime
complements are established for the older destroyers of the 0 Class:

*** As to the reported seven mine sweepers it has not been clearly
established whether they belong to the 111-40 or the 111-43 Class. It
is inferred from another rerort that the a rrnar:=or.t and the sneering 25X1C
gears and lines on all the boats have been roy owed. One boat

radar receiver. The ultrahigh-frequency e, litters are still on all

1946 and patrol the Gedser Strait from thou port,
