When conducting an abrasion test on rubber, three
factors, namely, the coefficient of friction. load, and

Abrasion tests were conducted at different loads and
slip velocities with a newly manufactured abrasion
tester which is capable of measuring power and clmng-

Cross-sectional sections of filaments which had been
spun out into several types of coagulation baths were
observed under polarized light, and their cross-
sectional orientative property was sought. From In-
formation thus obtaJned. we have explained the cogn-
pressive orientation effect and stretching orientation
effect which accompany contract-ion in the course of
viscose fiber formation, in their relationship with the
coagulation mechanism. We have explained the mechs-

DESCRIPTORS: *Cellulose, *Rayonfibers, Crystalli-

By measuring the crystallinity of several viscose rayon
fibers whose stability of cohesive structure varies
radically by the acid hydrolysis method and iodine ab-
sorption method the feasibility of thin method was es-
tabliahed. During acid hydrolysis the recrystallization
of the fibres depended greatly on the stability of the
cohesive structure. offi-.17.6.k.1 S-ic.,
