The conditions are considered under which the for-
mation of advective fogs due to cooling over snow is
possible. Die omitted calculations show that for the
formation of log over snow a greater cooling ot theair
mass is necessary than over a surface without snow,
with the same properties of the arriving air mass,
i.e., the effect of the drying of the air by the snow Is
confirmed.

DESCRIP'rMS: *Frequency multipliers, *Phase
measurement, Frequency shift, Stability.
A method Is proposed for investigating experimentally
the phase stability of frequency multiplicis. Thistech-
nique makes it possUde to detect and measure the
widening Of spectrum lines resulting from fast randoff j
variations in multipliers and determine systernatic
phase losses resulting from slow variations olcircuit
parameters. Relative frequency shift of 10-11 to
5xlO-13 due to a slow variation of circuit param-
eters was measured in preliminary experiments.
