1. REFERENCE YOUR TOHAK 255 ON THE PRESIDENT'S POSSIBLE TRIP,
I RECOGNIZE THAT EVERYONE THINKS SUCCESS IS NOW GUARANTEED. I
AM NOT ONE HUNDRED PER CENT SURE. WE MAY STILL HAVE TO RECESS
THE TALKS, THOUGH IT WOULD NOW BE UNDER MUCH BETTER CIRCUMSTANCES
THAN WOULD HAVE BEEN THE CASE A WEEK AGO.
2. FOR THIS REASON, I THINK WE SHOULD HOLD OFF A BIT AND LET ME
DISCUSS THE POSSIBILITY OF A TRIP WITH SADAT. THEN LET'S MAKE
A FINAL DECISION AFTER I RETURN.

1. Reference your T OHAK 255 on the President's possible trip,
I recognize that everyone thinks success is now guaranteed. I
am not one hundred per cent sure. We may still have to recess
the talks, thought it would now be under much better circumstances
than would have been the case a week ago.
2. For this reason, I think we should hold off a bit and let me
discuss the possibility of a trip with Sadat. Then let's make a
final decision after I return.
