1? At the Deputies' meeting, mentioned to DCI the report of China's air prepara-
tions respecting Indochina which was unconfirmed and evaluated Flow" by O/CI.
2. Also at the Deputies' meeting, gave DCI the NE report on the possibility of
legalization of Tudeh in Iran.

3. Discussed with DCI cable respecting comments on the
procedure for the next NATO Standing Group conference, Reminded DCI of the revised
procedure which he had approved and also reminded him of nV talk with Shortt and with
Samford. Thereafter drafted an explanatory cable f orb 25X1 A9a
4, Informed Mr. Sheldon of my conversation with General Partridge respecting
relationg with AFSA and requested him to send a copy of his minutes on this subject
to General Partridge.

5. Phoned of FE/DD/P, and made a mild complaint as to the priority If
given the cable on China's air preparations threat toward Indochina, but 25X1A9c
indicated that there was some background leading him to believe that the routine
precedance was an indirect evaluation of the information. Indicated that a comment would
be preferable from ou( point of view.

6. After chatting with- informed our answer to the Newsweek
request for information was "no" and that this would be our general policy on this

7. Lunched with Park Armstrong, and Mr. Amory. Following luncheon,
we returned to Mr. Armstrong's Office, a ici time the following points were covered:
a, Mr. Armstrong handed to me a draft proposal respecting Psychological
Warfare Intelligence support and I undertook to review it and comment
prior to my trip,
b, I raised a question of the NSA reorganization and expressed to Armstrong

for getting going on some planning in this field. I indicated that I

presently connected with Armstrong

a while.
c. We chatted finally respecting relations between the two Offices and I
suggested that there was some discussion between working level people
on economic matters which I felt could be worked out satisfactorily
both from State and our own point of view. I requested that Mr,
Armstrong not take any position until he had talked with Mr. Amory or
myself, if the matter was raised..
