PREFACE
This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1P lc (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POE, storage areas, (H) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train-
ing areas or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

SUMMARY
A probable military barracks area is lo-
cated in the southeastern section of Omsk,
8 kilometers (km) southwest of Omsk East
Airfield and 6.5 km east of the railroad bridge
over the Irtysh River (Figure 1).
The installation is served by secondary
streets of Omsk (Figures 2 and 3). It covers 30
acres and consists of 13 probable barracks, one
probable administration and 11 support buildings

within a secured area and three support buildings
outside the area.
Lack of good quality overhead photography
precludes determination of the military function
of this installation. Changes are not discernible
from available photography. The installation
was covered by 13 KEYHOLE missions between

Aircraft Landing Strips
No airfields are organic to this installation;
however, several are located within the urban
complex.
Administrative and Troop Housing Areas
Area D contains 13 probable barracks, one
probable administration building, and 11 sup-
port/general storage buildings.
Other Buildings
The function of three support buildings
located in Area H cannot be determined from
available overhead photography.
Athletic Field

Area K is probably used as a soccer field.
