This report supplements NPIC/R-262/63,
1/ which discusses the Gvardevsk MRBM Com-
plex, previously consisting of 2 't'ype 1 launch
areas and an associated probable rail-to-road
transfer point.
The Gvardeysk Fixed Field MRBM Site No 1
(Figure 1) is located in a level wooded area 15.6
nautical miles (nm) northwest ofChernvakhovsk
and 13.9 nm northeast of Gvardeysk. 'the site

2 (Figure 1) is also located in a level wooded
area, 4.9 nm east-southeast of Site No 1, 11.2
nm northwest of Chernyakhovsk, and 18.0 nm
east-northeast of Gvardeysk. The site was
initially observed in

of Launch Area No 1, 9.3 nm east of Launch Area
No 2, and 4.9 nm west-northwest of Fixed Field
Site No 2. Site No 2 is 15.5 nm east-northeast
of Launch Area No 1 and 14.2 nm east of Launch
Area No 2. Launch Area No 1 is oriented on an
azimuth of approximately 225 degrees and

FIXED FIELD SITE NO 1
The Gvardeysk Fixed Field Site No I (Fig-
ure 2) consists of 4 poorly defined possible
launch positions on an irregular road network.
