Dzhezkazgan (47-51N 67-28E), a major copper-mining center, is 290
miles southwest .of Karaganda on the single-track railroad. (Route No 491)'
from Zharyk (48-55N 73-OOE) to Baykonur (47-50N 66-05E). As shown on the
accompanying line drawing, the relatively minor rail facilities include the
following: two rail yards, Z. 200 and 3, 000 feet long, and each six tracks wide;
locomotive and car repair- shop, 160 by 95 feet, containing 6-8 stalls, with
'adjoining shop, 135 by 55 feet; boilerhouse. 160 by 40 feet; and passenger sta-
tion, 100 by 45 feet.
