NPIC/R-8i6/64 YELSK MRBM. COMPLEX, USSR FIXED FIELD SITE ? ? SS R. Yelsk Launch Area No 1 is 9.3 nm to the southeast and Launch Area No 2 is 8.7 nm to the east-southeast. The rail yard at Yelsk is the probable rail-to-road transfer point for the MRBM complex and the field site. The launch areas and the field site are connected to Yelsk and each other by a good, probably all- weather, road network. Handle Via TALENT-KEYHOLE Control System Only ? This report supplements NPIC/R-96/64, 1/ which discusses the Yelsk MRBM Complex, previously consisting of two Type I MRBM launch areas.
