This-m morandum is forwarded.in answer'.to the above mentioned requirement whi h requested an analysis and a comparative study of the petroleum refin ry located near Ryazan, USSR. ''. 2. Information ncerning this refinery as requested is as follows: a. Location -,The refinery is located approximately 2 nm south _ of,the,city of azan and 7 nm southeast of the Ryazan Dyagilevo Airfield, adjacent to the Michurinsk-Moscow Rail line. The geographic coordi.'nates of the refinery are 54 40N - 39 45E (See Figure 1 & 2) b. Areal Extent - The refinery area measures approximately 8,100 by 8,300 feet. The measurements do not include the heat and power plant nor,the possible petrochemical plant adjacent. to the refinery. The heat and powei, plant, flare tower and several refining and processing units showed evidence of some level of operation. plant-area was utilized in this study. Detail concerning the changes that have occurred are given in chronological-order in the following paragraphs. 3. The overlay accompanying Figure 5 outlines the refinery. area and the various sections within the refinery.
