Hanoi 25X1 D ng Son is covered by ill scale i ai.ls and ties have been removed and all bridges have twn oyed fran U!J96732 i (a bridge five miles north of Ranoi)to Lang Son. "here are numerous cuts in the rail bed in this r other light local traffic. the hilly region south of Lang Son for a distanceof apnroximat4'ly thirty nilea the rail line is tortuous and winding over a large part of this section. It appears hat the rail bed is overgrown with vegetation and has suffered some gree of erosion and general deterioration. The bridge at Lang Son has been repaired for foci. traffic and light vehicular use. Fro -s point two miles north of Lang Son to Ping Slang the rail bed appears to be, in goof condition and in use as a road.
