The field is served by a twenty- five foot wide road, one mile long, which connects the field to the recently completed north-south coastal highway. Construction activity 25X1D was first noted on photography dated the date of latest available photo coverage, construction work appeared to be approximately eighty percent completed. Res The runway is oriented in a NNE-SSW direction and measures 6400' long by 200' wide. Surfacing material consists of a mud slurry laid down in. the familiar checker board pattern noticed in the construction of other new airfields in the southeast China area. Surfacing of the final 2050 feet of runway was in progress on An assembly apron, 875' by 100', is located at each end of the runway, A graded area 1,250' long extends from each end of the runway, A 50' wide taxiway parallels the west side of the runway. This taxiway is connected to the runway by crossovers at each end and crossovers 19250' in from each end. Revetments: Thera are two groups of revetments,, with fifteen revetment;; in each group, located on the west side of the runway. Each re et.- inent is 100' deep and 100' wide with a 75' entrance. A firing-in butt is located in the south revetment area. Each group of revet- ments is serried by a 50' wide taxiway connected to the airfield. buildings: A control tower and administration building are located 850' from the west side of the runway. One arched roof hangar 125' x 100' and three probable repair shops are also located on the west side of the field. A barracks area, with a total floor space of 66,000 square feet, lies approximately 3,800' west of the SSW end of the runway. St:oe: Two FOL storage loops are located approximately 2500 yards Crest of the NNE end of the runway. One road is 1250' long and 15' wide and the second is 5100' long and 15' wide. An additional loop appears to be under construction in the same area. There are nineteen bunkers under construction each approximately eighty feet long. The total estimated capacity of the POL storage area, when completed, will be not less than 780 metric tons. E3avi ,ational Aids: A beam approach landing system has been established south of the airfield. An inner marker beacon is located 3000' from the SSW end of the runway and the outer marker 12,500' from the SSW end of the runway.
