US Air Target Charts, Series 200, scale 1:200,000 NSA SOC R-01-70 This report provides annotated photography depicting the current status of 26 photographically identified Orbita television receiving fa- cilities. It also includes a brief description of each facility and any associated features. This report on Orbita facilities has been prepared in response to an NSA requirement which requested a) the current status of all known Orbita facilities, b) a photograph of each facility, and c) photography illus- trating the construction process of a typical Orbita facility. Informa- tion on the construction process of an Orbita facility could not be provided because this would require either sequential photography over the same facility or coverage over several facilities in various stages of con- struction. Neither type of photography is available. Twenty-six Orbita TV receiving facilities have been identified on 25X1 , photography in the USSR (Figure 1). BRATSK ORBITA TV RECEIVING FACILITY A typical Orbita facility (Figure 2) consists essentially of a 40- foot-diameter solid parabolic dish antenna on a probable x-y mount atop a 60-foot-diameter control building. Microwave antennas have been identi- fied at several facilities with a general orientation toward the local TV transmitting tower. The reprint photo (Figure 2) has been authenticated by coverage and gives certain finite details not available from photography.
