CHIN-HSIEN SUPPLY DEPOT PAN-LA-SHAN NW, CHINA
X1
A previously identified storage facility is located at 39-11-50N
121-46-40E, 5 nautical miles (nm) northeast of Chin-hsien and 0.7 nm
northwest of the village of Pan-la-shan, China (Figure 1). Early

Facilities in the storage area include 7 gable-roofed storage
buildings of various sizes, 1 administration/support building, 2 open-
storage areas (Figure 3) and 2 small support buildings. Each of the 4
long storage buildings (Buildings 1-4, Figure 4) is divided into 3 equal
sections by what appear to be firewalls. Separate entrances for each
section are located along the southeast side of the buildings. The most
northeasterly section of Building 2 has been constructed at a lower level,
giving the roof a stepped appearance. The 6 dormer ventilators which
were seen on the roofs of each of these buildings through 25
are no longer visible on photogr-tpiy of Figure 3). The 25
roofs of two of the buildings appeared to be undergoing a refurbishing
Two of the remaining storage buildings (Buildings 6 and 7, Figure 4)
have 4 dormer-type roof ventilators. These 2 buildings are approximately
2 stories high, and they appear to have end walls of heavy construction.
The other storage building (Building 5, Figure 4), which is of stan-
dard construction, has no special ventilation devices.
Unidentified objects are visible in the 2 open-storage areas (Figure 3).
Security
Perimeter security for the storage area is provided by a triple fence.
The fence has been moved since to include more area in the 25
northwest and southwest portions of the-site (Figures 3 and 4). A single
fence now occupies the former triple fenceline along these 2 sides. A
guardhouse is located at the east entrance to the storage area.
Housing and Administration
The housing and administration area is located northeast and south-
east of the storage area. Included among the facilities in this area
are 1 administration building, 1 barracks building, 1 vehicle shed, an
athletic field, animal pens (Figure 3), 1 small open-sided shed, and 6
unidentified support buildings.
