Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP78BO477OA001400010034-0 Declass Review by NGA. Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP78BO477OA001400010034-0 AT AT S AT IAT STAT Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP78B04770A001400010034-0 OPERATOR'S MANUAL The purpose of the MonoRad is to facilitate and improve the process of aligning stereo imagery viewed through a microstereoscope. Functionally, MonoRad superimposes both output images of an anamorphic system into a single image which may be viewed through the eyepieces designated below. 1. The Anamorphic Eyepiece Prototype for use on the Zoom 70 Microstereoscope equipped with = 10X wide field eyepieces. 2. The I ladvanced anamor hic eyepiece prototype for use on the Zoom 70 equipped with 10X wide field eyepieces. 3. The advanced anamorphic eyepiece for use on the = High Power Stereoviewer equipped with II 6X compensating eye- pieces or ~10X compensating, wide field, high point eyepieces. STAT STAT STAT To interface MonoRad with the equipment listed above, three (3) pairs of adapters are provided. The adapters have been coded 1, 2, and 3; a card in the MonoRad case lists the corresponding anamorphics. Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP78B04770A001400010034-0 ^ ^ Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP78B04770A001400010034-0 Before placing MonoRad on the anamorphics (with eyepieces removed) screw on the correct pair of adapters. Holding MonoRad in both hands, about its center, enables adjustment of the interpupillary distance. One can now put MonoRad on the anamorphics. MonoRad may be oriented in either one of two ways on the anamorphics, operatively it will give the same result. Select the best way for operational comfort and make sure the adapters are properly seated. One of the eyepieces used on the anamorphics may be located in the eyepiece holder of MonoRad. Since there are two sizes of eyepieces, two holders are provided. The images that were in the anamorphic eyepieces are now superimposed in the single eyepiece of MonoRad. The eyepiece may be focused by rotating the holder in which it rests. If there appears to be a difference in focus of the superimposed images, rotate one of the fine focus knobs on the side of MonoRad. The fine focus knobs on the sides of MonoRad adjust focus for the similar side on the anamorphics. Adjustment of the images by the anamorphics or of the film by stage motion may now be made. After use, replace MonoRad in its case and remove the anamorphic eye- piece. Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP78B04770A001400010034-0 a Approved For Release 2005/02/17 : CIA-RDP78BO477OA001400010034-0 MAINTENANCE MANUAL The only maintenance required for MonoRad is the periodical cleaning of the adapter lenses.
