Dear Sir :
I take this opportunity to send to your kind attention my statement on
situation in the Republic of Cuba and my addresses, messages and program
since 1955.
This is a very small part of our activities, whit create a strong pressure
on Candian public oppinion and Government. The constant co-operation
with United States authorities was established. New organizations were
created to combat Communism, number of anti-Communist articles were published
Unfortunately Communists in Canada are progressing and our counter provisions
must be raised. This my statement was endorsed by other Canadian agencies
and the warning of Mr. 'r.E. Hoover, F.B.I. Director confirms, that Cana-
dian Communists will also go " in full scale actions" here. The Ethnic
groups are one of main targets. Communists need to destroy this defence-
line and to gain bases for further progress. I pointed many times in past,
that Canada is one of main concentration centers for Communist activity
against the United States.
Here among the Ethnic people is a great number of devoted anti-Communists.
They must be organized and take a geater part in the protection of the
American continent. Therefore my plans for future are :
To reorganize my present groups and extend our activities all over. Canada.
To create a unit in the Canadian Institute for External Affairs, in the
Institute on Public Affairs and in the United Nations Association to
influence their policies to be strongly anti-Communist and co-operate as
much as possible with the United States. To establish a local Committee
of the Assembly of the Captive European nations in Canada to strengthen
the anti-Communist efforts among Ethnic groups.
I am working also on special instructions for EtYyic leaders,: How to
counter attack and destroy Communist subversive activities and expansion.
I would like to send a copy for your attention.
I always declared openly, that only the closest co-operation with the
U.S.A. is most important and critized strongly all anti-American inten-

and can be produced.

financial expenses. Unfortunately the Canadian sources did'nt support usI
and therefore the U.S. support will be extremely much appreciated.
I will be very happy to inform you from time to time about our efforts

A statement on situation in Republic of Cuba for information of Members of
Democratic Governments, Assembly of Captive European Nations, Christian
Democratic Union of Central Europe, International organizations and Highest
Democratic Representations of nations enslaved by Communists.
The great number of articles of International Press Agencies describing the
revolution and situation in the Republic of Cuba was so confusing, that only careful
study and personal observation could secure the correct view.
Dictator F. Batista's administration who strictly controled Cuban Press and Radio and
released only information favorable to his regime has still some influence on public
opinion in the Democratic world. Also Batistas attitude against Communism, regardless
of his former co-operation with Communists expressed in International fields gained him
many friends among democratic sources. Therefore the information, released by him was
naturally favorable to his cause. Batista opposed the truth and reasons for the struggle
and methods used by him to supress a revolution. He accused rebels of all kinds of in-
justice and Communism, which trickod J'.Castro, but created conviction, that Communists
were strong supporters of the revolution associated with F. Castro. When F. Castro
after the revolution lifted the restrictions against Communists he also made possible
their reorganization, activity and propaganda. Also the presence of several leftists in
lower revolutionary positions created feeling, that the Communist influence existed in
the revolution.
However the interviews of great number of Cuban citizens of all classes Labourers.,
industrialists, profesors, clergy and leading personalities including F. Castro and
Secretary of the State Dr. Agramonte convicted me, that the riain factor in the success
of the revolution was decided by general resistance of the majority of the people
against the methods of dictator Batista. F. Castro gained sympr.thy at the beginning of
his efforts 1956, because Batista seized power 1952 in a non-democratic way. Therefore
Batista in order to suppres the revolution and to maintain his dictatorship increased
the police regulations. He established several special police organizations, who gra ..
dually becomed a source of all the state power. This police especially since 1956 used
means and methods contrary to all International laws and commited thousands of crimes
and murders against innocent citizens. Prisoners were tortured by special instruments,
women insulted by means similar to Gestapo's during Hitler's regime in Europe. Thousands
of innocent citizens were killed shot or hanged nights and days in their homes, country
or on the streets. Eyes and neils were pulled from prisoners, number of mass graves was
discovered. Sadism, terror and fear ruled the country. The number of victims killed by
Batista6 police exceeded 20,000.
When the revolution was completed and F. Castro started to administrate justice he sought
out those who had perpetrated the hideous crimes under dictator Batista and bring them
to justice. Punishment was given to those who had tortured and murdered more than one
civilian.
The above mentioned resistance of a najority of the nation and finally army caused the
success of F. Castro. After the revolution almost all the people were happy, freedom and
democracy were restored. But the revolution brought also many problems for new government.
Many experienced persons were retired from their positions because of former allegiance
to Batista's regime. Reforms and nesoessary improvments multiplied difficulties in admi-
nistration of the country. A great shortage of specialists, instructors and organizers
was noted. Industry and business were slowed down because the international investors
took reconsideration their investments and are waiting further developments. This caused
again more economic problems. The unemplyment reached 700,000 people. 40 % of nation is
uneducated, Cuba needs schools and teachers.

Each day the domonetratio%ns took places at havana and other towns. Labourers asked raise
of wages and social advantages, students demanded reformation of sohowls, unemployed
families wanted opening of "Casinos", employees accused by Communists of pro-Batistiem
and retired from their jobs asked for ro-emplt~yment. Major demonstrations took place at
the palace of the President.
Standards of living are generally low / labourers are paid 2-6 dollars a day, in the
country '}'e low standard of living is unbelievable. People are living in primitive huts
without floor and ceiling, without furniture unfit for human habitation.
New regime and Communists - ------
The new government including F. Castro is not Communistic. Communist influence was noted
in labour movements and some lower positions of public life. Some distinguished persons
accused openly especially Raul Castro and Fsrnesto Guevara, Commander of Fort La Cabana
and some of less important persons of leftism and Communism.
Communists hid during the revolution when they learned, that F. Castros success was se-
cure they vent into actions trying to seize as much as possible. F. Castro refused their
interference and support, but the existence of Communist organizations is a now danger
for the Cuban nation. This movement hid, under the name -- Partido Socialists Popular -
led by Dr. I;arinello who has approximately 10-15,000 followers, but some sources are
mating their strenght more than 50,000. Communist newspaper "Hoy" has about 10,000
editions daily. Dr. .arinello during my visit was in foscow. Some of his former teachers:
stated openly, that he is ":entally ill and his chief aim is to be President of Cuba.
Communists are re-organizing their forces especially among Sugar-cane-workers. Some
prominent persons do not believe, that Communists will gain 100,000 signatures to create
a party needed according the Cuban constitution. Communists believe, that they %!ill be
strong enough to gain some possitiona in government in the fortheoriming elections.
The arrival of a number of International Communistic agents and organizers from outside
the country and because of the upset conditions prevailing in the Cuba gave a strong
impression that Moscow realized here was a fertile ground for Communist agression and
expansion. I brought these facts to the attention at a conference r!ith F. Castro and
suggested to him personally to control Communist movements. Sy impresion was, that F.
Castro knows fully the Communistic danger but his answer was : " Not by force." I
advised the same to Secretary of estate Dr. F. t,gramonte. His oppinion was that a good
Cuban government will decrease the Communist danger automatically, and agreed to be in
further contact in this matter. Generally I believe that leading Cuban persons have not
the proper knowledge about Communists, their efforts, abilities and subversive activities.
They are also underestimating the Communist danger and menace. Finally the great number
of all kinds of problems makes it difficult to solve Communism imAdiatelly. On the
occasion of my visit I organized a unit to combat Clommunism.
Conclusion : - - - -
I had the feeling, that F. Castro has sincere intentions to help the Cuban nation ~!ho
suffered very much during Batista's regime. 3 billions dollars were seized by him and
his helpers and one billion dollars of debt remained at Batista's departure.
The agricultural reform is one of most essential experiments and only the future will
prove the benefit for national economic betterment.
Pressure of problems and difficult economic situations are causing some of the unpleasent
Castro statements. Some prominent persons are predicting that the present government
will be exchanged for leftists. Communists are the sources of the anti-Americanism), but
the Cuban people are devoted friends of U.;.A, and the Free world.
The general situation requires the promotion of all kinds of good relations, especially
commissions to study ecoaomic possibilities, instructors and specialists who can help
the Cuban republic to solve their fundamental problems and difficulties.
Friendly dealing therefore is the only proper approach to Cuban affair, possitive
attitude to Castro's regime, establishing of missions and representations and close
co-operation with the new Cuban government is the proper way for our democratic and
anti-Communistic international intentions.

Unfortunately our happy life, peace of mind and transquillity has been distur d

Events of the passing year recall to our mind vividly this satanic design in the
Middle East, China and Berlin which brought suffering and terrible wrdeal to
thousands innocent victims and to the fact, that before a solution will be found,
the Moscow mongers will foment several other strikes somewhere in Asia, Africa.
or South America. But this Communist penetration and pressure is alerting great
anti-.Oommunist movements in almost all democratic countries. Those forces V1111
be strengthened in next years to crush this menace. The future years might welt.
be designated as the beginning of the " afternoon of the life wf Ornmunism".
In Canada the Ccmmunist activity and influence noted in all sections of daily
life is forcing us to raise our attention and begin with the " g e n e r a 1

that Communism is dangerous, descructive and unhuman witn?ut proper provisi nrr
and actions will net overcome this evil. Only thousands of us, united in coma
task can limit the Red plaque to a minimum.
Therefore the only solution to this problem is tf, create units and organizations
who will counter-attack, destroy and liquidate Communist activity in Canada.,
Each organization could have three sections :
1./ For observaticn of Communists and their subversists.
2./ For information of Canadian Government, defence and public source-
3.. For counter-actions to overcome Communism priorly among ethnic

May I conclude my letter with this declaration :
11 We must reverse the present situation and to pass over from defensive

maintenance and restoration of the Christian order, ideals and unified Society
living in peace and harmony."
May the New year 1959 bring you a full measure of blessing, happiness and

utterly destroy the whole human society and the whole world.

important points of our program :
We will strive for unity of all democratic nations and full support of
non-compromise and anti-concessions policy of United States of :,merica

all other places.
We will ask the Canadian Government to take the strongest attitude against
the Soviets and fully support United States of :unerica.
We will ask Representatives of Democratic Governments in United Nations to
reverse the situation in this organization because they are powerless in
their actions against Communist expansion. We will ask again the United

THE FOLLY OF APPEASING THE COMMUNISTS.
An nppeal to our Fellow-Canadians.
In the last few months there has been a tendenc-ty in certain sections
of the Canadian press and community regarding the correct attitude
towards Communism. It started, with the wide publicity given in the
Globe & Mail to Bertrand Russell's defeatist philosophy and reached
its peak in the series of editorials published in the same paper on
the question of Formosa and the recognition of Red China. This
tendency has recently been aggravated by an anti-american propaganda
campaign strongly criticizing both President Eisenhower and 4r. Dulles
for their courageous stand against Communist agression. Considerable
publicity has also been given to views expressed by some well-known
businessmen and intellectuals, like Cyrus Eaton, James Muir, Oakley
Dalgleish and others, who after their recent visits behind the Iron
Curtain delights: in becoming self-appointed spokesmen for the gold-
wrapped Communist slogan of peaceful co-existence with the West.
Even more regrettable was the decision adopted by the Council of the
United Church of Canada, which on September 24th openly recommended
the recognition of Red China.
Significantly, the above attitude seems to co-incide with a new peak
of Communist agression being felt all over the world and a stepped-
up subversive activity apparent even in Canada.
People who know Communism or who had first-hand experience of its
horrors - of whom these are many in Canada - are becoming increasingly
alarmed by the moral ravage caused by this trend. It aims, first of
all, to disorientate and corrupt the instinctively right and healthy
anti-Communist attitude of the great majority of the Canadian public.
If further creates the entirely false impression that the Canadian
people are pressuring the Government to adopt "more flexible line"
towards the Communist-dominated countries and a more rigid stand
against the United States. Finally, by purposefully withholding
important facts from the public, this propaganda grossly distorts and
conceals the real threat of world-wide Communist agression.
No mention has for instance been made by the propagators of the "be
good to Red China" policy of the Following facts:
According to modest estimates, at least 12 million people were
murdered or otherwise "eliminated" by the Chinese Communists while
consolidating their power over unwilling people.
Since January 23rd, 1954, 37900,000 Chinese fled Mao's "Red Paradise";
Nowhere has the Christian Church suffered more severe and brutal
persecution than in China in recent years and of 13,000 Catholic
Bishops, Priests, Brothers and Sisters only a handful are not in jail-
or not expelled from the country.
There are almost daily countless references in speeches made by

Chinese Communist leaders about the various activities of a seemingly
unbreakable opposition to the Peiping regime throughout the country;
There are still tens of millions of people in China who have to endure
the "reform through labour" brainwashing procedure, which has every
single characteristic of slave labour;
The Taiwanese people are overwhelmingly anti-Communist and prefer
Chiang's Government to Mao's red tyranny. Moreover, the shelling of
the off-shore islands was started by the Reds while Chiang's forces
are prevented from replying by the US.
Has the world already forgotten that the Hungarian uprising of 1956
has proved once and forever that no people want or accept Communism by
their own, free will and are ready to sacrifice everything to shake
off its unbearable burden?
In view of the above facts, we, as good Canadians, can no longer leave
unanswered the present propaganda, conducted throughout the country.
We consider it our moral and. patriotic duty to address a united warning
to the people of this great country about the grave danger threatening
our freedom and democracy by the gradual corruption of our spirit of
resistance to Communism. Nobody has over succeeded in curtailing
Communist expansion through appeaserront and compromise. The "better
red than dead" point of view of Bertrand Russell, the "peace at any
price" slogan of the fellow-.travelling intellectuals and the "doing
business with anybody" attitude of diehard capitalists can become more
destructive than the underground work of the card carrying party-
member.
The international situation is unmistakably building up towards a
world-crisis and a new war, which all sensible persons want to avoid,
can only be prevented by a courageous and united stand against
Communism. We are going to follow this line whatever consequences it
might bring upon us and ask the Canadian public to join us in our
struggle.

Remarks on the Session of Parliament.
The majority of immigrants of European origin especially from countries oc0J--
pied by Communists believe that a certain modesty should be maintained in affair-i
concerning Canadian public life?
However the steady Con unistic attacks and efforts to destroy our demworatic orga
nizations, the growing presure of international communism and past experiences
frim old countries force us to observe all that might be dangerous for Canada and
possibly for thousands of lives of anticommunistic citizens.
It shall be sufficient to bring to attention diecusions of my people,, who are the
sources ^f these remarks:
The session cf the present Parliament is more important, than in the past becausc
our government now represents only a part of the nation when we recall that it w_i
more than 20 years in Opposition.
Some. time ago the Opposition /to-day the government/ criticised the so calle':
"Pipeline Affair ", but the strongest supporters of the critics and naturally rnc.
happy were they-communists "fighting together American Capitalism".
During the last election campain the representatives '+f Conservative Party go-
ve great pleasure to Communists in their Antiamerican instead of Antisoviet spin
repeating words and slogans which we have heard manytimes from communists. Is i"
not a fact, that the attention of the nation should be fixed on International C.
munism which brought society into the greatest danger of destruction the world.
instead on of "American Capitalism" the leading power carrying the biggest load
of defence for the Free World ? It is a communistic dream and concept to divide
the democracies of the Free world and lull them into a sense of false security.
The Prime-Minister spoke in Prince Albert, Sask. and the communistic press
wrote"s Mr. Diefenbaker interceded for frienship between East and West and said
That it is neseessary to have regular relations between West and East...."
Both the representatives r ; our groups and myself have for several years poin-
ted out tr, the governments of the Free world, that there can be ne compromise
with deceit yr evil, t1:,at it is highly dangerous to accept support from Cemmuni
or to believe in co-operation or co-existence with this International felon.
We know Moe''w is stca.C-1y completing an underhand program carefully prepared

'I would like also to remind the Hon. Members of Parliament the declaration of
D..Z. Manullski j in N-sa-w 1930 _
..... " War to the hilt between C.=unism and Capitalism is inevitable. Today of
course, we are not of:ong enough to attack. Our time will come in 20 to 30 years.
To win we shall need the. element of surprise. The bourgoasie will have to be put
to sleep. Si we shall begin by launching the most spectacular peace movement on.
record. There will be electrifying overtures and unheard -of concessions. The
pitalist countries, stupid and decadent, will reoicc in co-operating in their
own destruction. They will leap at another opportunity to be friends. As soon
as their guard is down, we shall smash them with our clenched fist ...."
Finally I would like to point out: There will be no peace, democracy or fre?-
dom in the world and we will always live in constant danger as long as any Com-
munist unit exists. The price of freedom is always constant vigilance.

Joseph BROUSEK, President of CDUCE and Vim-President

Letter of information to the leaders of anti.-communistic
organizations and editors of ethnic press.
Gentlemen:
During the past several years a number of notes have been
sent to government sources by myself and leaders of our organiza-
tions to point out that the Communists by all dishonest and most
intricate means have been steadily persuing a program leading to
world domination. Canada also has its place in the Communist
plans.
The ways of Communist work and efforts are very unusual.
In countries where mass support is expected Moscow builds parties
for revolutioiiary purposes, in other countries such as U.S.A. and
Canada,,".-,he Communists prefer to work slower, to build a strong
and weorganized secret and super-secret underground. with the
aim:
1.
To influence public opinion to provide the covers of a
ful program to hide this true intuition.
piece-
2.
To have perfect information /espionage/ service in Canada.
3.
To study weaknesses in. Canadian life and possibilities
attacks, sabotages and, damages in times of crisis.
for
4.
To infiltrate into Canadian life as much as possible.
To create troubles and. confusions and to keep the spirit of
revolution active among the working class and dissatisfied
elements.
The United States of America established for its own protection
a defensive law that had effective results, which law prevented
much trouble to the American people. The Canadian authorities
did not consider it important to protect by similar law Canadian
democracy and thousands of anti-Communistic immigrants and citizen
The result is that the Communistic underground can take almost an,---r
action without fear. For instance, our groups are molested by
receipt of thousands of Communistic letters /often in the form of
blackmail/, newspapers and visits of Communistic agents, prosely
tizing and trying to have them join the Communist party, take part
in its activities and return to behind the iron curtain. This is

not possible in U.S.A. Naturally, some of our immigrants returned
with their property and valuable information to the old countries,
some gave up anti-Communistic activity, and among. many people appears
a spirit -of. fear and uncertainty.
This serious situation was comprehended by some Liberal Members
in Parliament. Mr. LaCroix brought on December 17, 1957, in House
of Commons, his Bill No. 13, at proposal to amend the Criminal. Code
/Subversive Activities/ in such a way as to permit the prosecution
of organizations and persons engaged in subversive activities. The
need of such a law is very great, and it might well be an historical
step. Such an act will in any case protect democracy, give feeling of
security to our immigrants and save a lot of damages in future.
Unfortunately, the Conservative Members of Parliament from
Toronto, Messrs. J.B. Hamilton, M.P.., R.H. Small, M.P., D.J. Walker,
M.P., F.C. McGee, M.P., and F.C. Stinson, M.P., much to the dis-
appointment of our New Canadian groups have adopted a reverse
attitude of Mr. LaCroix's Bill. They have been satisfied to label
it as unnecessary, and condemn it as such.
After careful study of their speeches in House of Commons, it
is clearly evident that the Conservative Representatives are abso-
lutely uninformed and. their view is unimaginative, and, according to
our experience with Communists, almost irresponsible.
J;H. Hamilton, M,P., said, it was better to leave the Communists
"out in open, subject to public scrutiny" /which is a Communistic
wish/. R.H. Small, M.P., said, Communists would be' more dangerous if
driven underground by restrictive legislation. /Mr, Hamilton does not
properly know that the most dangerous units have been for years under-
ground and this underground directs the activities in open. The
control act will primarily effect the underground/. Mr. Walker argued
that the threat of Communism in Canada has re-ceded almost to the
vanishing point. /Thhis is also a mistake because Communists are
strong enough to create much of trouble, if Moscow should command.
Mr. Tim Bu3k declared recently that Communists will have twenty
candidates in Toronto and vicinity in the forthcoming elections/.
Some members of the Ethnic groups voted Conservative in the hope
that their attitude toward the Communists would be stronger, but the
#bove mentioned lecture disappointed them greatly.
May I ask you gentlemen., and editors of Ethnic press to inform
your committees ank members of' your groups about this situation.' It
is very important for our common sake to give full support to Mr. La-
Croix, M.P., and all Liberal Members of Parliament who promised to
assist us in our problems and take all steps for the defense of our
groups and democracy in Canada.
Sincerely yours,
March 1, 1938 Joseph BROUSEK

The Christmas Message to the Re-,resentatives of CDUCE and a_nticommunistic organisa_ti.::
CENTLEMEN
As I addressed my poeple back home I also take this opportunity of sending to you gen-
tlemen, on these hallowed Christmas days a few words of encouragement
These last few years we felt very .much the communistic pressures, the growing --
ence and efforts of conquering the free world.
Today with the interior evolution in SSSR and it's communist enslaved countries
cer p, s l a , presume, also in some ,cvern:;:mcnt sources, that the grade of communistic
danger is lower, that is coming a `olitical relaxiation and after time the communism
will be destroyed from within.
I believe, gentlemen, that this oppinion may not be correct and communism must
be overcomed by truth and democracy. The interior difficulties of our enemy might he
solved if another "Stalin" will appear in Moscow's stage, who might reorganised cog-
munistic parties in all world for an bigger danger tham ever before.
See A.Z. Manuilskij, !Moscow 1930:
n War to the hilt between Communism and capitalism is ineviteble. Today, of course, we
are not strong enough to attack. Cur time -.rill come in 20 to 30 years. To win we shall
need the element of surprise. The bourgeoasie will have to be put to sleep. So we shell
begin by launching the most spectacular peace movement on record. There will be elec-
trifying overtures and unheard-of concessions. The capitalist countries, stupid and de-
cadent, will reojice to co-operate in their own destruction. They will leap at anot --
her chance to be friends. As soon as the guard is down, We shall smash them with
our clenched fist ....? /
With the admiration and the :warmest symphaties we are following the fight of the
Hungarian heroes for freedom of their fatherland and we stated in our note to the go--
vern~~ents of free world, that without a very strong support of democratic nations the
fight of. Hungarian democrats will be very, very difficult, because Moscow will use all
brutality and dishonest means to supressed the desire for liberty in that country,
from the military and political point of view so much for SSSR important. Only upri-
sing in all Central Europe can meet i.mmidiate suceRss.
I know very well, gentlemen, that you as representatives of various groups are et-11
targets of communistic attacks and trickery and still not enough support and undersea -
ding of authorities is extended to you.
May I suggest you to co-operate with the government sources at all times and I will
be al-,:ways very honored to asist you as much as possible. I am certain that you are
sincerely follo*,-ling our sake to defend this great country, its freedom, democracy arri
all spiritual and cultural values. I an also proud that our anticommunistie activity
is growing and you are defending ycur groups against clever communistic infiltration
and trickery.
I thank you very much for your cooperation and wish you the Merriest Christmas
and the very best in happy and prosperous New Year.
Sincerely yours
Joseph Brousek.

The message to the 25th Annual COUCHICHING CONFERENCE.
GENTLEMEN :
I consider the Canadian Institute on Public Affairs to be one of the most important
organisations in this oountry. I am very honored by Mr. President's letter and his
invitation to cooperation.
The conferences dealing with growing number of various public problems can't be but
for the benefit of the young can_adian country. This dyncanic nation has the privili-
ge of living in a rich country with plentiful natural resources and sound economy.
Like in many other countries also Canada's population consist to a great extend of
immigrants comming here from all over the world. One of the latest irmigration-stre--
arls axe Central Europeans-particularly political refugees from countries behind the
Iron curtain.
From your conference it is evident that political and economic representatives of
this country arc striving to raise the standard of living of the canadian poeple
and secure freedom and.doraocratic rights for everybody.
All however is at, stake and could be easily lost, if the leading men of this country
should forget, that international and local communism is still the most dangerous
foe of western democracies and that in spike tf thj.ir present pretense of political
and economical friendliness, the communists never give up their final goal of world
domination, but just wait for- their change to Strike at any weak point, we may show.
We know, that ri!ht now as manytirea in the past the communists are having their in-
ternal difficulties, but they still remain united in their fight against western wo-
rld on military, economical or political basis. And there is no.doubt in my mind,
that their friendly faces, their "'oconomical and cultural cooperation"is just as
dangerous as their military atrenght and threats of atomic warfare.
If I may I should like very much to point out several facts, which have been discus-
sed by thousands of immigrants countlesstimes on many meetings.
1./I think, we do not like the statements of some Canadian politicians tending to i.,.-
dicate canadian government and U.Q.A. of economic and political errors. Such stato-
ments are being taken advantage of by communists for the purpose of political propa-
ganda here and abroad. It is our belief, that american poeple are carrying the biggu
st load of defence of democratic world and those speaking against U.S.A. will hardly
find any support among the :nany refugees from countries behind the iron curtain.
2./ Furthermore.I should like to point out, that the activity of the communist agent.,'
is being stepped up more than ever. One of their objectives is making as many refu-
gees return to their native countries as they can. Promieses, false pretenses, moles--
ting, blackrtail and kidnapping are some of their methods. The Canadian govern.,...:: r
should take definite steps against these agents who molest our immigrants trying to
persuade them to return, no matter what method they use.
3./ Last year and this March again I asked one of the leading immigration officer in
Toronto to call govern. attention to the unfortunate fact that thousanda of f0.
milies-of newcanadians / today most of them canadian citizens / are being held in the
communist countries practically without a hope of over acing their loved /especially
wifei and children/ onus again as the exit visas are very seldom granted by any corn
munist government. Also there is the fact, that many New--canadian left substantial
properties in their native countries which the communist hold without proper justifi-
cation. The canadian govcr r,,,.should'tuke at least come steps toward correction
of this injustice to thousands of poeple, who learned to love this country as their
own, who take part in its economical and cultural life and who are ready to def::rid it,
with their blood and with their life, against anybody.
Toronto, August 5, 1956.

Christmas Message to the Representatives of CDUCE and anticommunistic organisations.
G E N T L E M E N
The coming Season gives me the opportunity to wish y,u the merriest Christmas and the v,-
ry best in a happy and prosperous New Year.
As I did through Radio by my address to our people F also take the liberty of sending y
gentlemen, a few words of information.
The present evolution of world affairs in the Middle East shows that all opinions of the
Western representatives regarding the "mellowing and disunity" of International Communf~ i
are not correct confirming our statements of many times in the past in our notes to the
Governments in the Free World. It also proves,, that the ccmmunists are strong enough t---
still create serious troubles in all places,, which they consider suitable for their of the "World Revolution".
A steady observation .,f the Communistic underground reveals an increase of activity,.
outsider this is made to appear as though the party is facing a serious crisis. This
the case as actually Moscow again is engaged in sending thousands dissenters into the
World using new methods to destroy and u:dcrmino the defences of the democracies and
to be noted that our defensive provisions have not been increased accordingly..
I know gentlemenr that the majority of you are acquainted with these facts and that
have had enough experience with the 1.1crk and methods of Communistic spys, saboteurs
etisturbers.. Your responsibility therefore in the protection of democracy is much grey
than one, who knows communism only as an item from a newspaper.. You will also be tarp.
of new attacks and trickeryp because the distructien of "Anticommunistic Organisatio_
is one of the main points in the communistic plan..
T consider it to be important to again refor to the so called "amnesties" which Moec--
still recognized as very important tactical measures.. We are informed, that some sate',.
to governments are preparing new "amnesties" and for this purpose a large numbers of
are trained at great expense and we have sufficient evidence of the fate of those wh--
toned to the "luring voice of the homeland"s. Th'y today suffer in concentration camps
these "calling homelands" -,r in Siberia. / Each applicant for these: amnesties is carer
investigated and frr'n the first is prompted to ccmmit crimes against Canada and her fl.
rt is therefore very important, to carefully and conetently observe the activities
within your groups.. Again and again you mu^':, ccrrvenco your people, that all Communistic
actions are nothing other than very well prepared frauds and tricks for which they will
sooner or later suffer if they allow themselves to be mislead..
In view of these facts it becomes very clearly evident, that any dealing or co-operation
with communists, their organisations or diplomatic agents is a very serious treason. /in-
elusively Tito's and Gomulka's communists./11-40t one cf us will receive "mercy" or "amnesty"
from tht,se whose hands are. full of the bleel of --ur brothers and friendst and departure
from any communistic country will be not allowed..
T will consider it as great honor to help or assist you in all your problems, and work
your anticommunostic activities for the preservation of freedom, democracy and all cu...'
ral and spiritual values of Canada in our ..-ee World,.

New Year message to the Representatives of the DDUCE.
Gentlemen:
The coming Season gives me the opportunity to wish you the merriest
Christmas aid the very best in a happy and prosperous New Year.
As I did through Radio Broadcast Free Europe by my address to our people
back home I also take the liberty of-sending you, gentlemen, a few word s
of encouragement for the coming year.
Many of us enter the New Year with hope and ra ny of us enter it with fear
in our hearts.
I regret to say from the viewpoint of the political. evolution C today' E;
world and from the point of view of local political developments as well
that the strenght of communism is growing steadily and that the final sa-
ge of the gigantic struggle between the communism and democracy is not
far as ma ny of us may think. sc,
Against the growing power of our ennemy we have to answer with stronger
and better defence.
':~e called to attention of the governments of the Free World the great
danger of communist infiltration, clever activity and growing influence
in Canada and other countries. And we shall do it again as long as it
will be necessary.
I know, gentlemen, that you will do your best to defend freedom, demo-
cragr and spiritual and cultural values of this great country which
commm,.ism is trying to undermine and destroy. Drawing on your own ex-
perience with communism you can persuade tke Canadian people that there
is nct such a think as co-existence between communism add democracy, as
Kremlin will never give up it's final goal of conquering the free world
I know , you as representatives of various groups are frequently tar-
gets of attacks and communist trickery and that not always understan-
ding on the part of authorities is extendet to you which for the sake
of our cause I am certain, you will overlook.
We have to be very careful, as wr do not always know where the ennemy
is hiding and where he will strike next.Investigation committees in USA
and spy-affairs in several countries have proved communist influence in
public administration, police, courts, industry aid educational institu tions. I think I don't have to tell you what damage can be done by clever
communist underground and strong communist led unions in times of real
political crises.
I am certain that in the long run our efforts will bring the right
results and that our work will be appreciated by the Canadian people. We
have great cause and we are ready to fight for it on the political or
military front, and we are ready to fight to the very last ditch.
