REMARKS: LAUNCH AREAS "G'r AND "H" PLESETSK ICBM COMPLEX, USSR BOTH LAUNCH AREAS CAN BE CONFIRMED. THE GANTRY AT LAUNCH AREA "G" CAN BE CONFIRMED, AND A SIMI- LAR GANTRY IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT LAUNCH AREA "Hi". LAUNCH AREAS "Grr AND '"H" ARE TYPE IB LAUNCH SITES UNDER CONSTRUCTION. THEY ARE THE ONLY LAUNCH SITES OF THIS TYPE THAT HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED IN THE USSR. THE LAUNCH AREAS ARE RAIL-SERVED, THE RAILS FORMING IN BOTH CASES, AWISHBONE CONFIGURATION. A COMMON SUPPORT FACILITY SERVES BOTH LAUNCH SITES, AND CONSISTS OF AN ADMINISTRATION AND HOUSING SECTION, A LOGISTICAL SUPPORT SECTION, AND A MOTOR POOL/VEHICLE PARK, THE ADMINISTRATION AND HOUSING SECTION IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 5,000 FT SOUTH OF LAUNCH AREA. "G", AND THE. LOGISTICAL SUPPORT SECTION IS CENTRALLY LOCATED BETWEEN THE 2 LAUNCH AREAS AND These notes have been prepared for briefing purposes only and should not be used for detailed analytical work. A PROBABLE MISSILE GANTRY, APPROXIMATELY 155 FT IN HEIGHT, WAS IDENTIFIED AT LAUNCH AREA "G" (THEN CONSIDERED A PROBABLE LAUNCH SITE). THE MISSILE SYSTEM ASSOCIATED WITH LAUNCH AREAS "G" AND "H" HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. APPROXIMATELY 20 NM NE OF PLESETSK AND 6 NM ESE OF THE COMPLEX SUPPORT FACILITY. 7. SUBSEQUENT COVERAGE: 10 KH-LI- AND 4 KH-7 MISSIONS. 8. AT LAUNCH AREA "G", THE GANTRY CAN ALSO BE CONFIRMED, AND TRACKS EXTEND FROM THE GANTRY TO THE LEFT PAD. AT LAUNCH AREA "H", A LARGE GANTRY, LIKE THE ONE AT "G", IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION BEHIND THE RIGHT PAD. DETAILS OF THE 2 PADS AT BOTH LAUNCH AREAS ARE OBSCURED BY SNOW. EACH OF THE PADS IN DIAGONALLY FLANKED BY 2 LATTICE TOWERS. EACH LAUNCH AREA HAS 3 EARTH-BANKED STRUCTURES ORIENTED NORTH-S CUTH ALONG THE CENTER RAIL SPUR. A LARGE SUMP IS LOCATED IMMEDIATELY NORTH OF THE NORTHERNMOST EARTH-BANKED STRUCTURE AT EACH LAUNCH AREA. DITCHING AND GROUND SCARRING ARE EVIDENT THROUGHOUT BOTH AREAS, AND CONTINUING CONSTRUCTION IS EVIDENT.
