This memorandum is in response to Requirement TK/SRI-1-8-61 requesting a search of KEYHOLE photography for evidence of guided missile activity within a 150-nautical-mile radius of Alma-Ata (43-15N 76-57E), Kulja (43-55N 81-18E), and Urumchi (43-48N 87-35E). An area exceeding that stated in the requirement was searched. 14owever, approximately 95 percent of the total area, including all of the town of Markovo, was cloud-covered. There was no construction or unu- sual activity evident in the cloud-free areas. Only natural land forms were visible. Therefore, the suspected activity cannot be verified.
